I've been bugging L for ages to write some book reviews for me. She's reading lots of Canadian authors but I haven't been able to convince her to write anything down. So, for Christmas, I asked for and received a digital voice recorder (thanks J!) with the idea of interviewing her about the books she's read.
This afternoon, we tried it out and things seemed to go reasonably well. L talked about three books that she enjoyed recently (a series) and I think there's lots there for me to work with. What I can't decide is if I should take what she said and turn it into a regular paragraph-style review or if I should post it as an interview. Minus, as L said, the ummms and uhhhs. Oh, and maybe reorganized a bit for clarity because hey, I'm new at this interviewing thing too. I guess I'll try both and see.
At one point while we were recording, K came into the room.
K: Are you still doing the review?
R: We've done three.
K: Wow. That's much faster than writing them down!
Yeah. Faster for them, maybe.
