This afternoon, L & I were talking about music when she mentioned that she really liked Superman's Song by the Crash Test Dummies. She said that she has it on a playlist that she uses when she's having trouble sleeping and that she finds it calming or relaxing or something like that.

I said that I thought that was interesting because, when she was a baby, that was one of the songs I would often sing to her whenever she was fussy or crying and I needed her to calm down... and go to sleep.

And then you said

For my entire life, I have found myself inexplicably sleepy whenever I hear anything by Roy Orbison. Even songs I don't know.

Turns out my Dad used to listen to Mr. Orbison when he was rocking me back and forth in my stroller as a baby. And it would knock me out then, too.

I found that out when I was about 23 years old. Prior to that, I just thought Roy was weirdly soothing. ;)
