20.

We were both 24 when we got married. I actually thought at the time that we were kinda old (I know!) but now I realize that we were so very young. We have, in many ways, grown up together.

No one has ever asked me what the secret to a long, happy marriage is, but if they did, I would say, "Marry someone you don't get tired of being with." Ice may make me angry or frustrate me or annoy me at times (and I know I do the same to him, probably twice as much) but he never bores me. I never think that I need a break from being around him.

Then again, given how much he's away, maybe the real secret is "only see each other on weekends"?

Ice, on the other hand, likes to tell people that the secret to a happy marriage is to call before you come home. He also likes to tell people that we're both too stubborn and too lazy to get divorced. He definitely has a point with the stubborn and lazy bit.

Whatever the secret is, I think 20 years is an accomplishment. I received a huge bouquet of roses today and, hopefully, we'll get a chance to go out for dinner this weekend to celebrate.
