They missed another one.
Yesterday, when I was getting ready for the funeral, I looked out the window and the snow that was falling had turned into a serious squall. I couldn't even see the grocery store across the street.
Every winter, I'm surprised again by the sense of isolation a storm like that brings.
When we got home, there was a message waiting from Ice's boss, telling him that he didn't have to go to work. I was relieved but I don't think the kids were too thrilled that their dad got a snow day (night) and they didn't.
