Making a salesman's day.
Ice and I went shopping on Saturday and bought a couch, loveseat, chair, and ottoman for the den, as well as a dining room table, chairs, buffet, and hutch for the dining room (obviously). Spent a fortune but they were all needed items. I'm disappointed that they won't be here for this weekend (being delivered Nov. 3rd) but I'm really looking forward to getting rid of the crap we have now.
Got the fridge partially repaired today. The temporary fix the repairman did the other day caused the milk to freeze so it's nice to have at least that section working properly. They sent the wrong part for the other problem so I'll have to wait while it's re-ordered.
On Friday, Ice and I went to the liquidation and auction centre just outside of town to see if they had any suitable furniture. They didn't but we found a few other things. While we were there, I noticed some copies of Neverwinter Nights. I said to Ice that I thought that was one of the games that was playable on Linux but I wasn't sure enough to buy it. Checked when I got home and discovered I was right. On Sunday, Ice went to pick up L from her youth group meeting and when he got home, he tossed the game on my desk. Said he thought he'd buy me a present.
I installed it using ravage's installer and that went smoothly. But when I went to play, nothing happened. Well, not 'nothing' exactly.

Not very helpful. It almost felt like I was using Windows. After lots of reading, the general recommendation seemed to be that I needed to update my video drivers. Did that (with much anxiety) and now the game plays beautifully. I can't even explain how thrilled I am to have a full-fledged RPG that I don't have to boot into Windows to play.
Tonight, L was quizzing me about Hallowe'en.
L: “Which door are you going to use?”
me: “The front door.” (meaning the main door)
L: “How will they know not to go to the other one?”
me: “We'll have the lights on there and leave the lights off at the other one. Also, that's where the pumpkins will be.”
L: “Ok. What are you going to do while you wait between kids?”
L: “Oh, right. Newt's coming.”
