Stripping for Ice's holidays.
Despite the suggestion at the golf party that we use the GHA house as a vacation house, we'll be spending all of this week fixing it up so we can put it on the market. Ice worked on the outside today, soaking everything within a 100' radius with the pressure washer (including himself), and the girls and I stripped wallpaper inside. J just wandered around and pretended to help.
It was kinda fun despite the extremely stubborn second layer of wallpaper, partly because there was much singing (L said we sounded like we were trying to wake the dead) and even some dancing.
One of the (older) neighbours from across the street stopped by and asked how we were getting along. He said that he missed seeing the girls playing road hockey, that the other kids still play but that he always got a kick out of how much my girls seemed to like the game.
Only two things really marred the day. We discovered that one of the other neighbours, the dickhead next door, that we not so fondly refer to as Mr. Stupid, had taken it upon himself to trim some bushes that are on our property. I swear, just thinking about that man makes my blood pressure rise and not in a good way. I am so glad I won't have to deal with him or look at him or hear him in just a few weeks. He's one of the reasons I wanted to move.
The other thing, we discovered when we got home. The dog, to relieve his boredom, all but destroyed one of the cushions on the couch. Now we have to add that to the list of things to buy sooner rather than later.
