Yard sales and sunburnt noses.

Friday night, I went with Ice for his last pool league playoff games. Had a great time, laughed a lot, got to keep score all night (36 games in total, Ice didn't play all of them, obviously), my adding ability deteriorated as the night wore on, something to do with drinking doubles, I think.

Saturday was yard sale day. L woke me up before 8am (revenge for staying out too late the night before?), Ice's parents were already here and had their stuff set up on the lawn, J & K were helping them sell.

Well, K was helping them sell. J was inside on the couch, depressed because he hadn't sold anything yet. I pointed out that it was only 8am and there was still hope.

L & I walked all over town, looked at lots of stuff, bought a few books and some chocolate, and came home after an hour and half because I needed a rest.

Went back out again because L was depressed that she hadn't found anything to buy. Part way around the block, we saw Ice coming home from work, hitched a ride, and then headed out yet again so he could take a look around.

Bought some homemade pies. Blueberry and rhubarb custard. Yum.

Made it to Kelly's Place, bought some burgers and hot dogs, and talked to all of the people we knew hanging out on the front steps.

I gave up at that point and stayed there with Kelly.

Ice and L walked around some more. Bought a keyboard for J, a toy for L, and more books. Walked home, helped Ice's parents pack up their stuff, told them they could leave the books they didn't sell, got the van, drove to the abbatoir to get some meat, stopped along the way and bought, yes, more books. Came home and collapsed. We were all exhausted.

So I ended up with a blister, sore leg muscles, a sunburnt nose, and at least a hundred books. Not a bad day at all.

Sunday, we hauled a huge pile of junk out of the basement for ‘big garbage’ day.

Monday, today, we dropped off some papers for the mortgage broker and picked up a copy of the appraisal for the new (old) house. Laughed at the “somewhat dated decor” comment. Drove around and looked at the houses it was compared to and I decided I like ours best.

Discovered that the square footage is 3576, not including the basement, attic, or garage. Since this house is about 1400 sq. ft., we're going to have a little bit more room.

Two more weeks!

And then you said

More Space is a GOOD thing!

Our new place will be only double the current 1400 sq.ft., but then in the GTA "burbs" that was pretty much the max.

We as I assume you will actually have some storage space.

Ohhhh... you have no idea how much I'm looking forward to having closet space. Lots and lots of closets.
