Ice volunteered to work today. One of the jobs (same company but not run by him) was in desperate need of help so Ice figured what the hell. He'd be helping out a co-worker and making good money at the same time. They were starting at 6am and he thought they'd probably be done around 3pm-ish and he'd be home around 4pm.

He was only off by 7 hours.

In other news,

Since Ice wasn't home, I had to get up in the morning to see the kids off to church. I can't remember the last time I saw 8:30am on a Sunday. Unless, of course, I was just going to bed then. In the afternoon, the in-laws picked up the kids again and took them to the beach, so I had the house to myself for most of the day. Well, me and the dog and the cat.

The power was off for an hour and a half. Just our street this time, instead of the whole town. We must be special.

After supper, I asked L to go to the store. She decided to ride her bike but she'd just got out to the street, at the end of our driveway, when she fell. I was outside with the pup so I saw it happen. She was laying there in the middle of the street, all tangled up in her bike, the pup was pulling like crazy trying to get to her, and I was trying to get across the lawn and the gravel driveway in my barefeet as quickly as possible.

The guy across the street yelled to see if she was ok. The guy next door to him came out of his house to see if she was ok. The nurse and paramedic who live next door to us, and were about 20' away (if that) when it happened, completely ignored her. Jerks.

She has a bunch of scrapes (elbow, hip, knee, ankle) and she was shaken up but otherwise she's ok.

K went to the store instead.
