Johnny and John.
Johnny Cash -- legend, model, icon -- died Friday. He was 71.
Cash died of complications from diabetes at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, hospital spokeswoman Nicole Bates said. He had just been released Tuesday after entering the hospital August 28 with an undisclosed stomach ailment. He returned to the hospital Thursday.
When I heard this morning that Johnny Cash had died, I was sad but not all that surprised. Ever since June died, my mom had been saying that Johnny wouldn't be far behind.
The man was indeed a legend and his music was a significant part of my childhood. I'll miss that voice.
Also from CNN:
Actor and comedian John Ritter, who gained stardom in the sitcom "Three's Company," died Thursday night after collapsing on the set of his current TV series. He was 54.
John Ritter's death, on the other hand, shocked me. I'll admit it.... I watched Three's Company regularly as a kid. It seemed very naughty at the time and John's physical humour made me laugh. I've grown up some since then but John always had a special place in my heart. I'll miss him, too.
