Buying major appliances makes me giddy.
Ice got his bonus for the school job a couple of weeks ago. I was in favour of hanging on to it, and maybe going a bit crazy at Christmas, but Ice pointed out that we really need a new fridge. He's right; the one we have is too small and it leaks.
In almost sixteen years of marriage, we've never had a new fridge. For several years, we used the one he already had when we got married, then my grandmother gave us hers when she moved out of her apartment and into a nursing home. So neither of us had any clue as to what they sell for these days. I did some research (partly online) and damn, those things are expensive.
Today, we went to the Sears outlet store to see if we could find one that had all of the things we wanted at a price that wouldn't give either of us a heart attack. We found one, for over $1000. less than retail, and Ice will be picking it up tomorrow.
And Newt? It has an ice dispenser in the door. The bald one is going to need a new job.
