Bits 'n' pieces.

I hardly ever go into an actual bank. I pay the bills online or by phone, I write cheques for school stuff, and I use a bank machine or debit card for everything else. The only time I have to deal with a teller – or ‘officer’ as they apparently like to be called now – is if there's something that I can't take care of via those methods.

Yesterday, I went to the bank to get a cheque in US funds. And as usual, I got a rookie. The guy/teller/officer had never made one up before so he had to have someone walk him through the steps. It took twice as long as it should have but, on the good (?) side, J can now read the word ‘mortgage’.

Why did I need a cheque in US funds? I finally decided to buy it.

Speaking of J... when he and I got our hair cut on Saturday, he was sitting in the chair next to me. The girl who was cutting his hair was standing in between us and he couldn't see me when I sat down. He said, “What colour is your sheet, Mom?” (meaning the cape thingy). The girl answered for me as she moved out of the way: “It's kind of a purplish-red.” “Oh,” he said, “You mean burgundy?” Even I don't know where he learns these words.

Smashing a Terry's Chocolate Raspberry on the desk is a great stress reliever. The chocolate inside is really just a bonus.

***

Making more or less the same gifs over and over and over again is tedious. Trying to force those gifs to do something they weren't meant to do is frustrating.

***

The pies Ice bought on the weekend are going to waste.

Trying to adopt a homeless dog is an enormous pain in the ass these days. And I have a gut feeling that all the time and effort and stress I put into the mile-long form/questionnaire was a waste.

This guy has a really great voice.
