Sing it with me.

Earlier today, Ice was making dinner and I was playing DJ. Hey, if he's going to cook, the least I can do is entertain. So after I'd played Metallica's Enter Sandman followed by Chris Knight's The Hammer Going Down, he stuck his head in here and said:

“You know, a lot of people would think it's strange to follow Metallica with that guy. I don't but a lot of people would.”

And he's right. One friend of ours is so stuck in the 80s that he doesn't like to listen to anything but hair bands. The last time he was here, I threw in my Therapy? CD, just to shake him up. When Femtex came on and they sang, ‘Masturbation saved my life’, I thought the poor guy was going to fall off his chair.

I can't imagine what it's like to have such narrow taste in music. Around my house, you're likely to hear AC/DC followed by Jann Arden followed by Steve Earle. Part of this afternoon's playlist, in order:

Metallica - Enter Sandman
Chris Knight - The Hammer Going Down
Shawn Mullins - Yellow Dog Song
AC/DC - Back in Black
Earth to Andy - Still After You
Chilliwack - My Girl (Gone, Gone, Gone)
David Wilcox - My Eyes Keep Me in Trouble
Michelle Wright - Take It Like a Man
The West Seventies - What the Stars Provide
Aqua - Barbie Girl
Burton Cummings - Nothing Rhymed
Chris Whitley - To Joy (Revolution of the Innocents)
Jann Arden - Insensitive

Variety is good.
