Possibly the most violent movie I have ever seen. Incredibly brutal with scenes that are nearly unwatchable. I almost cried at one point. Not because of any religious beliefs but because the violence was that horrific.

Caviezel was outstanding, Morgenstern was heartbreaking, Celentano was disturbing.

Also, a working knowledge of the Bible, or at least this portion of it, is helpful because Gibson wastes no time on explanations or character identification/development.
