Newt's movie review

Somebody please tell me why you have to take off your shoes before entering a virtual world. And why do computers have to talk? And why was Haysbert given a speaking part? There are some seriously cheesy effects, some rather bad acting, and a really slow start, but if you can make it through the first hour, the story actually improves. I don't think it's worth wading through the first hour, but it does get better.
