Directed by: Mike Nichols
Starring: Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Julia Roberts, Clive Owen
Synopsis: The lives of a journalist, a waitress, a photographer, and a doctor become inextricably entwined.
This movie jumped ahead in time with startling frequency. It often took me a minute or three to realize that's what had happened. I suspect that aspect worked much better in the original play. The characters were unlikeable and unsympathetic but the acting was very good, particularly by Portman. And Clive. I mean, he made my skin crawl and usually I find him incredibly sexy so it must have been good acting, right? Yes. That's what it was.
The story was ok, although somewhat frustrating, and the dialogue was very blunt at times. I had heard beforehand that this was an amazing movie so my expectations were pretty high and, of course, I was disappointed. It was interesting but not amazing.
