Not only a good-vs-evil movie but an anti-smoking movie, too! And not only an anti-smoking movie but a "bash you over the head repeatedly with the message that you shouldn't smoke" anti-smoking movie!
Ok, that aside, Keanu was good (Neo-like, sure, but more interesting), Swinton was creepy, and Stormare was great. Even though I was perplexed a lot of the time, the movie was fascinating and worth watching.
OK, I loved it when Constantine calls Lucifer "Lou". I also thought the effects were good, I enjoyed the story, and I liked the top down comic book style shots. Reeves actually shows some, albeit limited, emotion here but it is appropriate. He's also a lousy smoker. Overall it's a pretty good movie; plenty of violence and a few horror elements.Added 10 October 2005 at 2:56 PM
