The romance didn't do much for me and I thought for a while that I wasn't going to like the movie. But then Zellweger and Hoffman appeared and from that point on, things were much more interesting. The story (apart from the romance) was good, Zellweger was brilliant, Kidman looked like a porcelain doll, Law didn't have many lines but was ok, Portman had a small but noteworthy part, and Hoffman was kinda slimey. I didn't recognize Jack White (I don't think I'd ever seen him before) but I was impressed enough with the bit of singing that he did to make a special point of finding out who played the part of Georgia right after the movie was over.
It was worth watching. Again, maybe not for the romance but certainly for everything else.
