Directed by: Sofia Coppola
Starring: Scarlett Johansson, Bill Murray, Giovanni Ribisi, Akiko Takeshita
Synopsis: A disenchanted movie star arrives in Japan to make some advertisements and meets another lost soul.
Murray was brilliant, Johansson was very good, the two of them together were charming, and the story was touching. Like The Virgin Suicides, it rambled a bit too much but the ending was absolutely perfect. Recommended.
I think what drives the movie is the steady pace, the limited dialogue, and the brilliantly conveyed mood. It's a desolate film and certainly not for everyone but it definitely deserves a look.Added 02 October 2004 at 11:11 PM
