Entirely different from Vol. 1 in that it wasn't a non-stop chop-fest, but rather dialogue driven, suspenseful and filled with emotion. And surprisingly, you didn't have to see Vol. 1 in order to understand and appreciate Vol. 2. It stands well on it's own.
The action sequences are really good, particularly the scene with Elle, each character is perfectly played, and it's a thrilling ride for revenge. Own it.Added 19 April 2004 at 7:06 PM
Clever camera work and clever lighting couldn't disguise the fact that there was only about half an hour worth of story. And what was the big deal with keeping her name a secret? Thurman was good but Carradine droned on and on and every time he opened his mouth, I was wishing I'd watched this on DVD so I could hit fast forward. It was a different movie and worth watching for that reason but I wouldn't call it great.
