Everyone was behaving like he was going to the chair. Sure, seven years is a long time and *I* wouldn't want to do it but c'mon. I couldn't feel sorry for the guy since he brought it on himself and I didn't feel sorry for any of his friends or family either (except for one scene near the end). The acting is great, however.

I can't say I liked it but it was interesting to watch.
