Directed by: Alfred Hitchcock
Starring: Laurence Olivier, Joan Fontaine, George Sanders, Judith Anderson, Gladys Cooper, Nigel Bruce, Reginald Denny, C. Aubrey Smith
Synopsis: A young woman marries a rich man and moves into his estate, where she finds she's not completely welcome.
It's a great movie, one of my all-time favourites, and you should watch it, even if only so you'll always be able to answer the trivia question "who played Rebecca in Rebecca."
Hitch is really good at using light and music to define every mood and moment, and he loves to focus on the eyes. It's a good movie and Fontaine could not have done better at playing modest and fearful, but Anderson is wonderful as Danvers. Check it out.Added 11 April 2004 at 12:59 PM
