Synopsis: After their teenage daughter runs away, a couple meets other parents in similar situations and establishes relationships with them.
Definitely a laugh out loud movie, and not just because of those wacky 70s fashions and hairstyles. There's an amazing scene where a group of parents attend a pot class to discover the attraction of marijuana, and the resulting strip Texas One Card Showdown is riotous.
It has a rather unexpected ending. No, really. I was watching the movie and all of a sudden the credits were rolling. Very unexpected indeed.
It's a good, fun 70s flick and thoroughly enjoyable. You even get to see Carly Simon sing "Long Term Physical Effects".
Interesting fact: Kathy Bates is listed as "Bobo Bates" in the credits.
