Newt's movie review

The animation styles ranged from classic to CGI to anime, and remarkably the one I liked best was anime ("Beyond"). There was some history to the Matrix ("The Second Renaissance") written by the Wachowskis and liberally borrowed from Asimov, there was some material connecting The Matrix to The Matrix Reloaded ("Kid's Story" and "Final Flight of the Osiris"), and some material that stands well on its own ("Detective Story").

Overall, I'd say it is dark, somewhat depressing, terrifically well put together, and an outlet for some creative fanfic. Not to mention another Matrix marketing tool and cash grab. But worth the rental for Matrix fans!

Ripley's movie review

Some stories were better than others but all of the animation was good. It's worth watching.
