Directed by: Paul W.S. Anderson
Starring: Kurt Russell, Jason Scott Lee, Jason Isaacs, Connie Nielson, Sean Pertwee, Jared Thorne, Taylor Thorne, Mark Bringleson, Gary Busey
Synopsis: Soldiers selected and trained from birth have been replaced by genetically enhanced supersoldiers. One of the 'retired' soldiers finds himself left for dead on a garbage planet, but there's always one more fight.
A very severe, stoney and buff Kurt rarely speaks through the whole movie. And it kind of works for him. Sort of. For a while. But then when you find out it's yet another metaphor it becomes rather trying.
The backdrops were awful, when there was dialogue it was bad, the plot was threadbare, but some of the effects were very cool and Kurt was extremely buff. Usually a picture is worth a thousand words but this one is somewhere around 100. Miss it.Added 18 April 2003 at 10:19 PM
Ice recommended this movie to me. He'd seen it a couple of times and said that it surprised him. It surprised me, too.
Russell said maybe a dozen words in the entire movie. Mostly, he just looked at people with a disconcerting stare. He did a good job though, the story was ok, and I enjoyed the movie. I have to say though, that this was the last place I expected to hear a Loreena McKennitt song. Worth watching.
