Directed by: Phil Joanou
Starring: Sean Penn, Gary Oldman, Ed Harris, Robin Wright Penn, John C. Reilly, John Turturro, R.D. Call, Joe Viterelli, Burgess Meredith
Synopsis: After some time away, Terry comes comes back to Hell's Kitchen and the old gang, but he's a changed man.
This is a New York cops and robbers story with Ed Harris at the mob boss, but it is WAY TOO LONG. It dragged. And there was so much drinking going on I was thirsty the whole time. Oldman is fantastic, but he can't carry this weary done-to-death story. Miss this one.Added 03 April 2003 at 9:42 PM
You could tell from the very beginning that things weren't going to go well. Penn was as good as always, Oldman was great (his character was a complete lowlife but Oldman made him sympathetic), and Harris was suitably cold. Nice chemistry between Penn and the future Mrs. Penn, too. The story was good, the tension near the end was good, and the movie itself was good. Worth watching.
