Ripley's movie review

I expected lots of blood and guts for some reason but what I got instead was an interesting, rather arty, movie. Good acting, good story, and the fight scenes had a Matrix-like feel. Some people may have a problem with that but I liked it.

The best part of the movie for me was the way it looked. It was beautifully made with great camera work, editing, and effects, as well as loads of atmosphere.

It's not often that you find a movie that is a period drama with martial arts and horror and conspiracy and, well, a little bit of everything. I can certainly understand why it has achieved cult status. It's definitely worth watching.
