Directed by: Scott Hicks
Starring: Anthony Hopkins, Anton Yelchin, Hope Davis, Mika Boorem, David Morse
Synopsis: When a mysterious man moves into the apartment upstairs, a boy's life is changed forever.
I read this story long before I saw the movie so I really can't be objective about it. The story was so much better.
The kids were great and the mother was fine but I didn't think Hopkins quite captured Ted. Not my view of him anyway. As with many of Stephen King's works that have been turned into movies, essential elements were left out so, at times, it didn't make much sense and the character development wasn't nearly deep enough. The movie seemed cold and distant while the story had much more warmth. I can't recommend it.Added 12 February 2003 at 2:37 AM
