When I saw the promos for this movie, I thought it was going to be a lame, silly comedy. It turned out to be a remarkable piece of Canadian filmmaking.
When the movie started, I was on Murray's side. After all, he was trapped in a tree by a gang of thugs. But as it went on, the good guys/bad guys line became blurred and it was hard not to feel sorry for the kids.
The acting was very good, the script was excellent, and I was impressed by how much depth was given to the characters. I was also impressed by the fact that, with the exception of a few scenes, the movie was filmed with Hewlett up in an actual tree. You gotta give the guy credit for turning in such a great performance from such an awkward position.
I highly recommend it.
