Directed by: Steven Spielberg
Starring: Tom Cruise, Max von Sydow, Steve Harris, Neal McDonough, Samantha Morton, Colin Farrell
Synopsis: In the near future, murder is all but eradicated by harnessing the abilities of precognitive people, and stopping the murderer before the murder. It's a good system, but it may not be perfect.
Holy biblical references Batman! And you don't have to look for them, they come right out and smack you between the eyes.
It sure wasn't as good as the adverts would have me believe, but it was ok. It was based on a short story that was pretty good but not all that complicated, and I did have the ending figured, which is always a disappointment. Cruise did an alright job with the role, but Morton was great. Freaky, but great.
The effects were good but there were a lot of obvious ripoffs from movies like Blade Runner (the apartment), Star Wars: Episode I (the troop carriers), Swordfish (the monitor setup), and so on and so on.
Overall, it was ok, but it certainly won't make the Top Ten List.Added 28 December 2002 at 4:40 PM
Mark it on your calendar: I watched a movie based on a Philip K. Dick story and actually liked it. A lot.
Very entertaining with lots of action and a few surprises. Cruise was good but Morton was remarkable and, for the most part, I liked the effects/stunts/gadgets.
I recommend it.Added 09 March 2003 at 3:53 AM
