Very interesting movie. It was a bit rough around the edges but the story was good and covered pretty much everything you can think of: murder, rape, racism, sexism, spirituality, family bonds, tragedy, comedy. The main characters switch easily from English to Cree and back again and that was kinda fascinating, too.
As long as you don't expect a Hollywood movie (it's very Canadian), this one is worth watching. At the very least, you'll learn something about Native beliefs.
Trivia: Shirley Cheechoo (Ruby) wrote, directed, produced, and acted in this movie. She is the first First Nation's woman to do all of these things for a feature film in Canada.
