Directed by: Phil Alden Robinson
Starring: Ben Affleck, Morgan Freeman, James Cromwell, Ken Jenkins, Liev Schreiber, Bruce McGill, Richard Marner, Ostap Soroka
Synopsis: A terrorist pits the U.S. against Russia in a nuclear showdown.
I didn't think I'd ever say this, but Baldwin was better. Freeman was good and Marner was superb.
This is a very, very typical Clancy: same base characters, a plot twist, tonnes of action, big effects, emotional attachment to a character, Ryan figures out the devious plot and appeals to his counterpart's sense of humanity, and America is saved again.
The effects were huge, but there are better Clancy movies out there.Added 18 November 2002 at 2:31 PM
Kinda tedious at the beginning but picked up nicely after a while. Affleck was ok but not great, the story was ok, and I laughed a few times. As Newt said, not the best Clancy flick.
