I'm not a fan of Denzel and I've always thought of him as just an ok actor. So I watched this movie partly because of all the hype but mostly to see if he really deserved that Oscar.

He did. Good movie. I recommend it.

The full-face camera close-ups became annoying very quickly. The plot took some time to get going but this is a movie to be experienced not figured out. It's brutal and unpredictable and MaryAnn hated it. I found it surprising and thought Denzel put up one amazing performance.
