Directed by: Brad Silberling
Starring: Nicolas Cage, Meg Ryan, Dennis Franz, Andre Braugher, Colm Feore, Robin Bartlett
Synopsis: An angel falls.
We likely won't get a review from Ripley cuz it's got Nick Cage in it, so you'll have to take it from me: avoid this movie.
If this movie were any slower, it would be yesterday. There are maybe a thousand close shots of Cage looking pensive or lost or sentimental or whatever it is he's trying to be when he puts his eyebrows together and purses his lips. Enough already! I get the point!
It dragged, and dragged, and dragged some more. What there was of a plot was transparent. It was a ripoff of a short story and should not have been made. A total waste of two hours.Added 26 October 2002 at 12:03 PM
Actually I have seen this one. I can't stand the guy (I think I've said that once or twice) but the trailers for his movies always look so good that I get suckered into watching them.
I'll just add one thing to Newt's excellent review. There was zero chemistry between Nick and Meg. And in a romance, chemistry is vital. Take Newt's advice: avoid this movie.Added 28 October 2002 at 3:12 AM
