I detest Nicolas Cage. For a perfect example of his non-existant acting ability, watch him try to portray shock, horror, and outrage when he views the supposed snuff film. He's positively laughable.

Sadly enough, even if they'd cast someone else in the lead role, this movie would still suck. Don't waste your money or your time.
